‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Teaser Trailer Released – Jenna Ortega’s Gothic Magic Is Ready to Stream Again!

The teaser trailer for season 2 of Netflix’s hit gothic-horror-comedy series ‘Wednesday’ has been released, filling fans with excitement. On April 23, 2025, Netflix released the teaser, announcing that season 2 will be released in two parts. The first part will be streaming on August 6, 2025, and the second part on September 3, 2025. Jenna Ortega is once again preparing to entertain Telugu audiences as Wednesday Addams.

What’s in the teaser?

The teaser trailer begins with Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) returning to Nevermore Academy. “It’s like returning to the crime scene… I already know where the bodies are buried,” she says in a deadpan style. At airport security, weapons such as brass knuckles, pepper spray, nunchucks, a Taser gun, and a twin-spiked ball flail come out of her bag, including the ‘Thing’, which triggers an alarm due to her sunscreen. The scene perfectly showcases Wednesday’s signature weird humor and dark charm.

The trailer sees Wednesday reunited with her roommate Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), and features Steve Buscemi as new principal Barry Dort, and Joanna Lumley as the Addams Family’s grandmother. The trailer highlights the horror elements, with scary dolls, mysterious creatures, and a giant monster, suggesting that this season will be even darker and more thrilling.

Story and Setting

Season 2 sees Wednesday Addams enter her second year at Nevermore Academy, where she tries to hone her emerging psychic abilities. She becomes embroiled in a terrifying supernatural mystery with new secrets, old enemies, and family dynamics. While Season 1 focused on teen romance, Jenna Ortega revealed that this season will focus more on horror and gothic elements. “Every episode feels like a movie, and we’ve added slasher horror references,” she said on the Emmys red carpet.

After the Nevermore Academy temporarily closed in Season 1, Season 2 sees it reopen, and Wednesday returns of her own accord. However, “nothing goes as planned,” creators Alfred Gough and Miles Miller said. In addition to expanding on the storylines of other characters introduced in season 1, the Addams Family lore will be explored in greater depth.

Cast

Jenna Ortega returns as Wednesday Addams in season 2, this time also serving as a producer. The returning cast includes Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzman (Gomez Addams), Isaac Ordóñez (Pugsley Addams), Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin), and Victor Dorobantu (Thing).

Guest stars include Christopher Lloyd (who played Uncle Fester in the 1991 Addams Family film), Thandieway Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Lady Gaga (mystery role). Fred Armisen will return as Uncle Fester, and a spin-off series based on his character is also planned.

Direction and Production

Season 2 is directed by Tim Burton, Paco Cabezas, and Angela Robinson, with Alfred Gaugh and Miles Miller serving as showrunners. While Season 1 was shot in Romania, Season 2 was filmed in County Wicklow, Ireland, making it one of the largest productions in Irish history. Filming began in May 2024 and wrapped in November 2024.
